Our client is an organisation that works with Primary schools in England and Wales, supplying them with the best subject specialists delivering dance, music, drama, art, PE and modern foreign languages. They are currently looking for an Account Manager to join a hugely successful market leading education service provider based in Cardiff.
The role will be developing strong and loyal partnerships with their primary school head teachers. You will be the ‘face’ of our client taking on full responsibility of your accounts and continually developing strong and lasting relationships that create loyalty and ensure high retention levels. You must be an extremely well organised individual. Utterly dedicated to exceeding customer service expectations – It’s your job to ensure every single primary school we partner with is a ‘raving fan’ of our client.
You will need to :
Be A Plate Spinner. If you’re the sort of person who likes to put the headphones on and concentrate on the same task all day, this role is not for you! The kind of Account manager we want as part of our team is not only good at keeping lots of plates spinning at the same time, but genuinely enjoys the buzz of it.
Have a sense of anticipation. You will need to be one step ahead of the game. If there's a problem in the pipeline you will of already made the call and managed expectations before the client even knew anything might be wrong.
Talk. It's so tempting to hide behind email isn't it? We want an account manager that knows that email is fine for the admin side of running an account, but it doesn't build relationships (which is what the job is all about). When there's bad news, deliver it in person (or at least on the 'phone). We want an Account Manager in our team that uses every opportunity to build personal contact and trust with their clients.
Have Guts. Being an Account Manager does not take the kind of bravery required to fight in Helmand Province, but on their own terms, the best Account Managers are gutsy. As the lightning conductor when things go wrong (which they inevitably do from time to time) an Account Manager needs to have a rhino's skin and not be afraid to be honest - especially when the client isn't going to like what they're about to hear. The truth will always come out, and the best Account Managers aren't afraid to take it on the chin early (see anticipation above).
Lead by Example. The best Account Manager is even of temperament, always positive and upbeat. When things are a little flat, they galvanise the team and keep them motivated.
You will be based from our Cardiff office and will be travelling around South Wales visiting your clients, meeting and exceeding sales and retention targets.
Essential knowledge/experience/requirements:
• Own Transport
• ‘determined’ to achieve results and smash targets
• ‘motivated’ by financial reward and incentives
• ‘driven’ to continually provide customer service excellence
• Flexible and positive work attitude
• A Charismatic personality
• A “can do” attitude
• Have some knowledge of what it takes to work with children
Salary – Excellent Basic + Commission. OTE £33000.
